How to search the Base-Library Catalogue
The Base-Library Catalogue gives you access to the collections of 22 NHS Libraries that are home to over 87,000 books, journals, DVDs and audio items.

Start your search by entering your search term into the 'Quick Search' box located at the top of each page. This could be a subject for example, paediatrics or urology.

Go to Advanced Search to search only the items held by a particular library, or to search by author or journal title.
How do I reserve a book?
After locating the item you would like to reserve, on the search results page you will find a red 'Reserve' button next to each item. There is also an option to 'Reserve' on the item details screen.

Clicking on 'reserve' will take you to a page where you will be asked for your 'Library User ID' (your library card number) and 'PIN', in order to log-in to your library account and place the reservation.

You will receive an email as soon as the item you have requested is available for collection.
How do I renew my books?
Log-in to your account to see the items you have on loan and can renew. The account login box is at the top right corner of every page (help to log-in?).

Click on 'Renew my Items' or 'Review my Library Account'. Then tick the box next to the items you would like to renew and click on 'Renew Selected Items'.
